Does God abandon nations? – Acts 14:16-17

“In the generations gone by He permitted all the nations to go their own ways; and yet He did not leave Himself without witness…”

There are so many verses that speak to the fact that at some point mankind, because of their willful denial, is beyond redeeming, as alluded to in the verse above, where nations get their wish for bad leadership and sinful ways, and as specifically addressed in the verses below.

Hebrews 6:4 “it is impossible for those who have once been enlightened…to be brought back to repentance”

2 Thes 2:11 “…God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned” and even

2 Pet 2:20-21 “For if they are overcome, having both escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and having again been entangled in them, then the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, then having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them.”

I pray that those we love will believe and not be beyond the hope of redemption.
