Can someone be beyond saving? – Matt 7:6

“Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”

Following Matthews’s verse on not judging incorrectly, he cautions that we do waste our efforts with dogs and swine. This sounds somewhat heartless. But, these are those who have been given the truth of the word but have radically rejected and discarded the truth. We are to judge in that regard and this all pertains to the concept that although we wish all to be saved, some have rejected the truth to a point that their minds are blinded and that it’s too late for them to be saved as in Hebrews 6:6.

“It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.”

Additionally 2 Thes 2:9-11 discusses this concept with respect to the Tribulation”

“The coming of the lawless one…will use all sorts of…signs and wonders…and all the ways that wickedness deceived those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.”

Lord, there are those we know who fall into this category, let us continue to live our lives as a witness. There are many who are falling into total wickedness and are already blinded. Lord, protect us from the evil one. Again, let our lives glorify You.

Thank you, Lord, help us to recognize our sins and forgive us so we may be in peace with you.
